Hand-built in the Hagi tradition, this mug carries the soft, chalky glaze Hagi ware is prized for — a pale grey-white surface that shifts in tone with light and use. The clay body is left slightly rustic, with visible texture and gentle asymmetry that mark it as handmade, not molded.

True to Hagi-yaki, the glaze is porous. Over time, tea and coffee will seep into its fine crazing, deepening the color and creating a patina unique to each use — the “nanabake,” or seven changes, that Hagi ware is known for.
