Rice bowl by Yũka Matsuo

Hand-thrown in Hagi, Yamaguchi, this rice bowl wears a soft blue-grey glaze that pools into deep pockets along a warm brown rim, with a hand-carved spiral at its center and delicate floral accents on one side. Hagiyaki’s porous clay means the glaze will gently age and deepen with use — a signature trait of this centuries-old tradition. One-of-a-kind; slight variations in shape and glaze are natural.
