Yunomi by Douzen Tsuchitani

A hand-thrown yunomi from Hagi-yaki potter Douzen Tsuchitani, showing the soft, porous clay body and layered glazes characteristic of the tradition. The rim carries warm ash tones that give way to a hazy blue-grey glaze streaked with deep plum-red, where the glaze has pooled and thinned unevenly across the throwing lines. The interior deepens into a rich indigo-blue pool. Subtle speckling and the slightly irregular, hand-formed silhouette speak to its handmade origins — no two pieces are ever quite alike. A quiet, contemplative cup suited to daily tea.
